A fasting blood sugar (FBS) test measures glucose levels after at least 8 hours of fasting, providing a baseline reading of blood sugar levels without the influence of food. In contrast, a PPBS test measures blood sugar levels two hours after eating, assessing how well your body processes glucose from a meal. While FBS indicates your baseline glucose level, PPBS provides insight into post-meal glucose spikes, both of which are critical for diagnosing and managing diabetes.
