Antiretroviral therapy (ART) suppresses the virus, reducing its presence in the blood to undetectable levels. While this doesn’t alter antibody or antigen detection, it may affect the sensitivity of nucleic acid tests (NATs). ART does not cure HIV, so regular testing is essential for monitoring viral load and treatment efficacy.
