HIV RNA testing, also known as a nucleic acid test (NAT), detects the virus’s genetic material and is highly effective for early detection. It is often used in high-risk cases or during the window period, as it can identify HIV as early as 10-14 days post-exposure. RNA testing is also valuable for monitoring viral load in individuals undergoing treatment.
