An LFT measures various markers of liver health, including alanine transaminase (ALT), aspartate transaminase (AST), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), bilirubin, albumin, and prothrombin time (PT). Elevated or decreased levels of these substances can indicate liver inflammation, damage, or dysfunction. For instance, high ALT or AST levels suggest liver cell injury, while high bilirubin may point to bile duct problems. These results provide a comprehensive view of liver health and guide diagnosis or treatment.
