GFR (Glomerular Filtration Rate) measures the kidneys' ability to filter blood and remove waste. eGFR (estimated GFR) is a calculated value based on creatinine levels, age, sex, and sometimes race. While GFR is directly measured during advanced tests, eGFR provides a convenient, non-invasive estimate used in routine KFT panels. Both values assess kidney function, with eGFR serving as a reliable indicator for diagnosing and monitoring kidney diseases.
