High AMH levels are a hallmark of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Women with PCOS often have elevated AMH due to an increased number of small, immature ovarian follicles. However, diagnosis of PCOS requires additional criteria, including irregular cycles, signs of hyperandrogenism, and polycystic ovarian morphology on ultrasound. AMH testing is a valuable tool for identifying PCOS but must be used alongside clinical evaluation.
