What is GCT (1 Hour) test?
The glucose challenge test is done during pregnancy to screen for gestational diabetes, which develops during pregnancy. The test is generally done between weeks 24 and 28 of pregnancy. The glucose challenge test is done in two steps. First, you drink a sugary solution. Two hours later, your blood sugar level is measured. For diagnosing type 2 diabetes, your doctor may ask you to test again on a different day if your results show higher-than-normal glucose levels.
